I seriously doubt it, seeing as the

normal DL09 software updates have taken so long
and are still occurring for another two weeks.

The Vibrant is similar to the Galaxy S used in Europe. It makes sense they would get it first. Fascinate folks can't update via Kies. Our phones are not compatible.

I'm not going to hold my breath for 2.2 ... Glad the Vibrant users are getting it, but I'm not thrilled for them. Happy

Ahhh interesting. I really don't understand why the
fascinate happens to not be compatible with Kies. Doesn't make
any sense really. But oh well, if need be, i suppose I could wait for
the roms and some good flashing instructions...

...since I have not flashed my fascinate before.

Once you start flashing, you'll be addicted like the rest of us. It is a lot of fun! Someone over on xda is creating a ROM for the Fascinate with 2.2 (yes, that is correct). However, it is still quite buggy, but he is flying through it like mad!

The European/world versions of the Galaxy S (i9000) are GSM phones, like the Vibrant. The Fascinate is CDMA.

What the heck does that mean? I'm glad you asked, because I had that same question a while ago:

And when you said there's a rom being constructed
for the fascinate 2.2, are you referring to the VZW
fascinate, not the telus fascinate or whatever?

Here's the link. If you try it out, remember not everything works!! Only you are responsible for screwing up your phone (if it happens).

Flash the ROM then the kernel then gapps. Remember to WIPE!! Read the thread for further details:

Tell me how it goes!

I think I'll definitely have to read up on flashing way
more before i attempt to do my own phone. Maybe
if I find a video/tutorial or something, then I'll go for it.

Dude, I just flashed it. It definitely has bugs here and there, but I got 2.2 on my Fascinate and I'm now flash enabled! Just watched a vid in my browser for the first time ever. Haha! Going to keep playing around with it for a few more days to see if the pros out weigh the bugs!
