I have been reading a lot about this rooting of the phone just so you can install a fix that will get rid of all the so-called Lag issue. Now, I really like to know why is it a MUST to be able to root your phone just to increase the speed of your phone? I do not get it. Are'rt the available programs in the market, to shut down unwanted programs down, sufficient? Like Task killer etc.

I am ordered my phone and hopefully will be getting it soon. But it worried me that the first thing I have to do is 'Root' my phone because of programs running in the background? Does not sound too logical to me.

Samsung is coming out with a new firmware or update next month, so is it really neccessary that I start messing up my phone for something that will be officially available to the public?

Is this lag on every single new Samsung Fascinate phone on the market?

No worries. I am not doing it either. I rather wait until the official Samsung update, froyo is released in September. I was just curious to know why going through such method was so necessary. I figure it would be much similiar just to use a app that will do the same.  Big Grin

Understood. Although I do want the same speedy device as your rooted phone, I just thought there was an easier way than rooting. That's all.

Omnian, doesnt memory up pro already have a task killer? Once i upgraded i immediately uninstalled advanced task killer cause i thought it was already redundant.

I just got my phone and I must say that it is the best phone I have spent on a mobile phone. I am not going to go through and a explain but only say that I will definitely not be rooting my phone as I am happy the way it is right now. Performance seems very fast for me. Although I have not tested the GPS, only hoping that Samsung official update will fix the problems people are facing. I am not a big GPS user so it will not bother me too much.
Omnian, where did you find the 'memory up pro' app? Although I have not done any major test with this unit, as I mentioned earlier, but I'd just like to know I can get this app if necessary. Thanks.
