I Have a Fascinate SGH-T959D. I had Froyo and upgraded to GB 2.3.3. What I didn't know before was all the billions of variations of Galaxy S' there were and put an i9000 2.3.3 on my phone. When I was updating it, it went fine. No recovery mode, but there was a bootloader mode where i did it with Odin.
My phone is working fine, but I have no home button! I can't gett into recovery or BL mode via 3 buttons using ANY of the combos Ive read on the web. Is there a way to get the proper rom (which I believe I have now) onto here? Can I load it when not being in bootloader mode? (as odin sees it). Currently running:
Model :GT-i9000
Firmware: 2.3.3
Baseband: i9000xxjvo
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7

Unfortunately I do not have any solution for SGH-T959D model other than verizon I500 model. Samsung Vibrant has same model name, but I'm not sure if the stock vibrant tar file will work with your phone. Sorry...I can't give you much help.
