This thread no longer valid now. Follow the link below for new rooting instruction, how to make nandroid backup, and installing roms for Verizon Wireless Fascinate
http://www.samsungfascinateforum.com/samsung-fascinate-rooting/new-instruction-to-root-your-phone-cwmrecovery-and-install-rom-(080512)/

a) This applies to only Verizon Fascinate and Windows PC Users.
b) I'm not responsible for your own cause. Try this at your own risk.
c) If you're currently using Voodoo Lagfix or Voodoo Kernel, remove it first!!!
-> For voodoo kernel removal, go to my previous post: http://www.samsungfascinateforum.com/samsung-fascinate-rooting/instruction-to-remove-voodoo-kernel/
-> For voodoo lagfix removal: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=804784
d) Do not make nandroid backup using voodoo kernel or you'll have some serious hardtime
e) Do not proceed if you don't have your DI01 stock nandroid made.
f) Do not proceed until you obtain 1129 nonvoodoo kernel(http://deodexed.com/ROMManagerManifest/jt1134/novoodoo/1129_test_novoodoo_fascinate.zip) , DI01 modem (http://galaxysense.com/adrynalyne/di01modem.tar), Stock-i500-VZW-pit, odin, and Stock-i500-VZW-Kernel.tar.md5 file.
Get stock recovery files and odin here: (http://www.samsungfascinateforum.com/samsung-fascinate-rooting/how-to-install-dj05-roms-after-flashing-cwm-recovery/).
g) Do not proceed if you don't know how to use odin.

I. Nandroid back-up (I'll repeat.  Do not make nandroid using Voodoo Kernel; remove it first)
Go to rom manager-> click backup Current Rom-> name your nandroid backup and click 'ok'(I always use name of rom). Remember your set-up(kernel,modem,and rom; write them down somewhere).  When nandroid back up is complete, it will reboot automatically.

II. DJ05 rom to stock DI01 nandroid backup Leap
a) Open Rom manager-> click menu button on the far left by soft keys-> click "clear download cache" and turn off your phone.
b) Open odin-> take battery out-> set up download mode (if not highlighted yellow under ID:COM port, do not proceed. plug out usb and install samsung driver on your pc first).
-> click pda and look for DI01 modem and click start; you do not need pit file on this one.  do not plug it out until it finishes flashing.
-> close odin and reopen, and set up for download mode again-> click pit and open Stock-i500-VZW-pit file-> click PDA and open Stock-i500-VZW-Kernel.tar.md5 file-> click start.
c) Place battery back to your phone, do not turn it on. Open CWM Recovery mode manually.  *If you mistakenly restart your phone to main screen, you'll see some weird things going on screen.....you do not need to worry....just turn it off and try to open CWM Recovery mode again.  Ditch blue recovery by selecting 'apply sd card update zip'(always use home softkey to execute in blue recovery screen) to green recovery screen.  Click wipe cache partition-> wipe cache.  Go back to the main option by pressing menu softkey(one on the far left bottom)-> Click advanced-> wipe dalvik-cache-> execute. Go back to previous main option-> select back up and restore-> restore-> find your stock DI01 nandroid and execute.  YOU'RE DONE!!!
