Hi, I'm Jeremy.
25
Male
Utah

Love this phone. It's my second touch screen. First was a first generation Blackberry Storm. I'll never look back. Love Android and the screen is amazing. Luckily my wife and I stumbled into a Verizon store just looking to upgrade her to a Droid X but it was during the buy one get one free deal so we went with the Fascinate. Haven't had a problem with the phone at all other than my addiction to Angry Birds.

Found this place looking for a way to uninstall the bloatware from my Fascinate. I've been searching but no luck so far. If any of you seasoned posters want to point me in the direction of a thread with the info about this it would be appreciated. I noticed a thread that mentioned rooting but couldn't find one explaining how to do it.

Thanks.

Hi Jeremy,

Welcome to the Forum.

For a start. please get familiar with the Site Guidlines and Rules.

To learn more about your phone, please check out the How, What & Where.

In order to remove the bloatwares, first you'll have to root your device. After that, search for and install a Root Explorer from the Market. e.g. EStrong's File Explorer.
With the Root Explorer, goto your device's /system/app and delete the bloatware .apk or it's better if you move them to your memory card (for backup).
Please be careful of what you delete. Deleting the wrong files and you may have to Hard/Factory Reset your device.

Enjoy your stay.  Wink Wink

I also want to remove some of the bloatware on my Fascinate. However, I do not know what to uninstall and what I need to keep. Could you give me a list of the bloatware that is safe to uninstall?
