Will Samsung get Android 2.2?

Anyone know if Samsung will get Android 2.2 for the Fascinate?  And if it will be a free upgrade?

I returned my Fascinate.  I liked a lot of things about it but voice recognition was impossible and that is a basic function for me.

I had a Windows Mobile 6.1 phone.  On voice dialing it would miss about 1 or 2 in 10 calls.  I thought I would get a new phone and get better results.  But the Fascinate has been almost completely useless.  It misses 90%.  And it isn’t even close on recognition.  If there is any background noise (e.g. while in driving in the car) it can’t get anything right.

Maybe the next version of Android "Gingerbread" will be better.  They heavily advertise voice contro.  i hope it works.

Froyo is now rolling out in Canada. After the JK4 fiasco with the Bell Vibrants(i9000), it looked like all updates were on hold but Samsung started releasing JL3 on Dec. 22. So far, this release covers the Telus Fascinate(T959) as well as the Vibrants sold by Bell, SaskTel and Virgin Mobile. The only group still waiting are the Rogers customers who own the Captivate(i897).

The upgrade wasn`t announced until the 23rd. I stumbled across it when I fired up Kies around dinner time on the 22nd and there was a message saying that an upgrade was available. Figuring it was probably something small like the GPS fix, I went for it. Sure was a surprise to find 2.2 on my phone(Telus Fascinate) when it was finished upgrading. Searching online brought up no results about the release until the next day.
