Hi, i've set up my hotmail account on the fascinate to push email, all the settings work and i've set it to push every 30mins, but it just seems to push them through occasionally like maybe once a day. I can set it to push every 5 mins and send a few test emails and it doesn't always pick them up either? any ideas what i am doing wrong?

The whole idea of push mail is to receive the email as soon as someone sends it, no need to check it frequently. Are you using Fascinate' stock email? I don't know if Hotmail support push email, but I know that the stock email doesn't support it. Try K-9.

Edit: Someone told me that the samsung email app supports push email but I still can't get it work on mine yet Crying

Any update on this?  I just picked up a SF and it worked for 3day really good and then it just quit telling me about new emails.  I'm using hotmail.  I deleted and re entered all the info and it didn't help.

Mine never alerted me to e-mails.  Only the gmail one does for me.  I have a yahoo and a internet carrier based one, both set to the "E-Mail" icon, and I always have to go in and "Refresh" to get anything delivered.  I eventaully just said forget it.

My corporate accounts (Microsoft Exchange) don't work with the stock email app. I came from a Blackberry so this made me pretty mad when something that worked so seamlessly before is causing me so much grief, but I did find a couple of solutions to my email problems, maybe they'll work for you:

1. Gmail works perfect with the Fascinate, push email is reliable and you can sync your contacts and calendar as well. Set up a Gmail account and then IMAP/POP3 all your other accounts into your Gmail. This is more of a band-aid than a fix because if you're using POP3 you're defeating the idea of push email by placing a poll time limitation on when you look for new mail on the server but it looks like that's what you're doing anyways.

2. Samsung Email app might work. I've had to set up my work email through the "Other" account option here. It's not an exchange account set up so I lose that functionality but so far the push email is working. I suspect there's a security problem or a compatibility issue with Android and some Exchange servers that's causing all the problems here. Hotmail might not have this problem.

3. Try K-9, MailDroid, or Touchdown. For me, K-9 and MailDroid would not recognize my exchange server but Touchdown worked great. Too bad it's like 20$. There's a good chance one of these will work for you.

If you're setting up your email to poll every 30 mins anyways I would go with option #1, just dump all your accounts into 1 Gmail account and set that up to push to your phone it works great. You can set up your Gmail account to send mail out of your hotmail address.

Your OS is probably unstable or defective.  You should be able to get it instantly.  Factory reset it first......if that doesn't work out, have OS reflashed or exchanged before warranty expires.
