I was just using my phone, turned off the screen to put it in my cargo pocket, now the phone won't turn on again!

I plugged it in, and the screen will turn on to show that it's charging, but the phone still won't turn on/boot up whatever.

UPDATE: I plugged my phone in again for a while, and then it came on and has been working fine for the last 4 hours. My husband researched the issue and told me it's pretty common. Something about the phone not actually taking a charge when plugged in even though it looks like it's charging.

How *do* you remove the battery on the Fascinate, anyway? Couldn't figure that one out (esp given how easily the cover came off my last phone)

When all else fails, remove battery, then reinstall battery and battery cover.  That is often the only recourse for a "dead" phone that really isn't.

I was getting this problem all the time on my first Fascinate. They replaced it for me. It would turn off in my pocket, and I would not be able to turn it back on easily. I found that if you held the power button for about 20 secs or so and then release it, it would restart the phone.

I dont think the phone was actually off when this happened to me. I think it was just frozen with the screen lock on. Either way, it sucked.

hold your phone mic end up with the phone back towards you and squeeze the sides gently. Place a fingernail in the narrow slot by the mic and twist to pry the cover off (it's pretty easy when squeezing the sides). To remove the battery just put your nail in at the dip in the bottom and flip the battery up.
