Hi-just plugged in my Samsung headphones(that came with the Fascinate) last night for the first time. Started the media play, and whooee it sounds like they're singing in a cave, I mean the sound is totally washed out and completely wrong. Tried messing with the EQ and other settings to no avail. Please help, I bought this phone thinking it would also be my MP3 player and I'm bummed out. Any suggestions much appreciated

The only problems I have had with the Samsung-supplied earbuds:

1. Make sure the connector is pushed into the phone all the way.
2. Make sure the media volume is up in the Sound & Display Settings in the Settings App.

You may want to consider investing in a quality pair of headphones.  Most headphones that come with a phone are of average to low quality.

Hi, I have the same problem. I tried to push the headphone connector into the phone all the way but it did't solve the problem. I also tried with one different headphones,  it was the same. What else could I do to fix it?

You are right. I think the problem is the headphone's jacket because Fascinate uses the 4 pole 3.5 mm jacket for sound, mic, TV out and ground. I tryed my headphones with 3 pole jacket, the sound was good, i also tryed to use original headphones on my stereo amplifier and  the computer sound card, the results were amazing. So decided to buy 3.5 mm 3 pole converter but how it would be with the mic to call or answer the calls? But maybe it's my phone's problem, does anybody have this problem? Thanks.

I think the best solution to the bad media player sound is a good pair of headphones, but if you are going to invest in them, get a good pair of bluetooth headphones. Sennheiser has good ones. With a good pair you will never have any problems with the sound, but they should be good, since bass response via bluetooth is always reduced. Try it I did.
