It seems like there's not a lot of help replacing just the glass online.

Is it possible for me to just buy the glass ($15 on ebay from china) and do it myself? I can't find any digitizers by themselves. The most I could find other than the glass is the digitizer + LCD combo which is $100+. I don't need the touchscreen and LCD to be changed. Just the glass.

I mean I do have a spare Droid I can use but I really like my galaxy.

While I was Christmas shopping at the Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach I noticed a sign outside of a jewelry store saying they repair smart phones. If you are not in the area you might try calling some local jewelry stores to see if they can fix it. I would never have thought of it if I hadn't seen it.
