After the DL09 update, my Fascinate no longer automatically connects to my car's handsfree setup when I get in the car.  The only way I can get it to connect is to unpair and remove it from the phone, then set it up from scratch when I get in the car.

To make matters worse, I can only unpair the device (under Bluetooth Settings) infrequently and, it seems, randomly.  9 times out of 10, it just simply sits there in the listing of devices and does nothing.

Anyone else experienced this?  Anyone have a solution?

BTW, this is pairing with the Audi MMI system (which has had no changes or firmware updates).

Thanks!

I also have the Verizon Samsung Fascinate and an Audi with MMI 3G.  (2011 A5).  The car is brand new and I cannot get the phone to connect via bluetooth.

Did you find a solution?

Thanks,
P

Hi There,

I have a Volkswagen CC and just bought the fascinate the other day.  I am having problems connecting to Bluetooth as well.  The phone is paired but not connected.  If I make a call directly from the phone, disconnect bluetooth, and reconnect, i have hands-free contact with the car.

This a somewhat frustrating since I just switched from a Blackberry Curve, set it once when I got the car, and never touched it again!

There is no way a Bluetooth connection should require dialing from the phone instead of the voice commands that Volkswagen includes as a standard feature.  I can only think of the following possibilities:

1) VOLKSWAGEN/AUDI INCOMPATIBILITY: Some sort of Volkswagen Auto Group (VW, Audi, Skoda) incompatibility.  You both have new Audi's, and I have a new Volkswagen CC with the touch screen radio/hands-free.

2) SAMSUNG/ANDROID ISSUE: There may have been an issue from the beginning or a software upgrade that affects VW/Audi

3) UNKNOWN FASCINATE PHONE SETTING:  There may be a phone setting that I cannot seem to find.

Did either of you happen to find a solution to this problem?  Or, does anyone have any advice for this issue?

Any help would be appreciated!  Thanks
