Your gmail Inbox, contacts and calendar all should sync automatically with your Fascinate, altho it won't be instantaneous.  Sometimes it can take up to an hour to replicate.

Anything you enter on your phone's calendar, will sync with your Google calendar, and vice versa. Changes should appear within a matter of minutes. I don't recall it ever taking longer then five minutes.

I dont see my appts that I put into my samsung fascinate - they are not appearing in my google calendar as I sit here at my laptop.

How can I troubleshoot this?

I see my google calendar appts. on my phone (the ones I set online with my laptop) but not the other way around.

You are probably saving the new entries to your 'My calendar', which is saved on the phones calendar.
When creating a new entry, look for the 'Calendar' option about half way day the create event screen. Choose that and change from 'my calendar' to your gmail.com calendar.
then you will see the entry both on google and on your phone.

Thanks. I am looking for a ''create event" screen but don't see it. Is this an app or a function within an app?

I see the google calendar appts from within my calendar app, so I thought I was in the right app.

I can see appts set both within my phone and google calendar....

I'll figure this out one way or another Wink Wink

eventually..... lol

On you phone, first open the Calendar application. On bottom of the calendar screen should be a 'gray' area with 'Tap to create' in it.   Tap there.
This opens the 'create event' screen. About 2/3 of the way down this screen is a 'Calendar' option.... Tap the '>' greater than sign on the right.  You should now see an option to create this new entry either on the phones 'my calendar' OR 'xxxxx@gmail.com'. Tap the gmail option.   This will create this new entry on your gmail calendar.

This was driving us nuts, but my wife figured it out...

I did install Agenda Widget to display my calendar on the home screen. It has an add event button, which makes updating the calendar even easier! The widgets are incredibly customizable too...

So, I first selected 'Applications' from my home screen (very bottom, right). Then I see a green calendar icon (about half way down). I select the calendar. BUT I do NOT see a 'gray area' or 'Tap to create event'. Is this found on the SAMSUNG FASCINATE by default? I ask because I have not installed any widgets, etc., this phone is as it came out of the box.

Not sure what to tell you.  I have 3 Samsung Fascinates.. With the exception of some games and utilities from the market, they are as we got them from Verizon. All three have a 'tap to create' section right under the actual calendar in the Calendar application.
I've installed no 'widgets'. I only use the ones that came with the phone.

Open the Calendar  app.  Then at top of screen, choose the 'Month' view. Then touch any day that has no entries. ( entries for that day show as a little blue triangle in corner of that day. )   When I do this, a big 'tap to create' entry is at bottom of screen.

If you're using the Week or Day view, then just hit the 'menu' button and choose the 'Create' option to get you to the same place, 'Create event'.

I just tried all 3 of my phones....all work this way.
