I have read numerous posts on various forums that people have been able to get the TV Out to work on their Galaxy S phone - but none of them actually mention the model number, and Samsung seems famous for have some models support some functionality and others not...
I have a Galaxy Fascinate model SGH-T959D (Telus Canada version). I first tried a standard 3.5mm to RCA audio/video cable, but it didn't work. I read on some forum that the width of the connectors on the 3.5mm end differ, and you have to get the right cable. So I thought I won't dick around, and ordered the actual Samsung 3.5mm to RCA TV Out cable (part # ECC1TX1BBEGSTA) - which says right on the box it supports Galaxy S handsets... well. you guessed it.. still doesn't work - I get a scrambled video and no audio.
I tested the cable using our Zune 120 - works fine.
Called Samsung support - ha - what a laugh - the support person told me the only way to connect it to a TV was using the USB out, and it only worked on a USB equipped TV. I guess she hasn't read the Galaxy S manual...
So I turn to you good people - the actual users.. and want to see if anyone out there with the same phone I have has been able to get this to work - and if you did, please let me know what cable you are using. I suspect for some reason this feature is somehow disabled on my phone - even though I have a TV Out setting to enable/disable.. but hopefully someone can prove me wrong.
Thanks in advance
