Has anyone any hard evidence what the memory (RAM, not the 8 or 16 Gig ROM) will be in this thing? I'm hoping it will at least match the HTC Desire/Triumph. I heard somewhere that the desire may have the extra 64Meg for the radio, but I find this unlikely as my Nokia 5230 seems to get radio just fine on a measly 128 megs total (and as a pleasant surprise also works with my etymotic headphones, not the headset ones, standard ones).

I have seen rumours of 512 megs, and this seems most likely, but I'd love to see something different here, a Gig would be awesome(and awesomely unnecessary for android, but awesome all the same).

GSM Arena did have a review stating 256 Meg. Since confirmed with Samsung as 512 Meg

Don't worry about RAM. It is 512RAM.

GSM arena changed their spec chart since Samsung confirmed it.

Arrghhh and I just got a Samsung contact lined up, was going to send an email today asking about the RAM.

Guess I was too slow, GSMArena beat me to the punch. Good to know how much memory it is, though I'd still like a confirmation that it's LPDDR2 instead of LPDDR1.

In smartphones, more important than how much RAM is in the phone is how fast the memory is.

Memory speed is currently the biggest bottleneck in smartphone hardware to date.

I'd say the biggest bottleneck is Solid State memory.  It probably only goes 20-30 MB/s max.

The speed of the ram is fine.  I mean I'd prefer LPDDR2 but, even with the SoC of the OMAP 3530 all of the components in the SoC are extremely memory efficient between the memory controller.

Even the SGX manages with low memory throughput with the use of TBDR.  TBDR was extremely memory efficient even back in the day with Kyro 2 GPU's.  Getting 95% of claimed fillrate.  TBDR really helps solve many issues with heavy swapping in and out data from RAM.
