Well, the front page story implies that the Fascinate may well make its way to Verizon. Right now I am planning to get the incredible, but would prefer the Fascinate and more than that, would love a Pro version. Hopefully we get some more details in short order so I know if I should pop for the Incredible or wait for the S.

It's interesting, a week or so ago, a Forbes.com analyst "predicted" that the Fascinate would end up on all 4 major carriers.

One by one, we're seeing more evidence pop up that this is indeed the case, and makes me wonder if the analyst is really clever, or in fact was making his "prediction" based upon some inside information...

Based on what I've read Samsung want to get into this android game in a big way. The biggest way would be to be the only (only major anyway) big android handset on all four carriers. If anyone can get one and not need to worry about network, the it will become THE android handset, and make all the other ones look like small time single carrier devices. If you can get this on all four, you don't need to think about it. You don't need to think "It'll be the EVO on Sprint or I'll have to get an Incredible on Verizon" or whatever. It'll be "I'll get that Samsung with the pretty screen on *insert any network here*".

I'm speaking as an outside spectator of course, I'm in the UK and will be getting mine carrier unlocked. It's easier here, they all use the same frequency bands and our 3G is as fast as the 4G demoed on the EVO at CTIA. Seriously, Engadget were inpressed at 4Mbps. I used to get that on o2 with my iPhone 3G 20 months ago. Its not as fast now with network saturation coming into account, but if 4G is only getting 4Mbps now when it's hardly used, it doesn't bode well.

4G is a standard of IMT-advanced, made by ITU (Union internationale de télécommunication). And the spec is telling us that a mobile devise operating whit 4G should support speed up to 100Mbit/s and computers gets even up to 1 Gbit/s. If this numbers works only in theory or for real, I'm not sure. But in Sweden we got 3G (3.9G) network whit 7.2 Mbit/s.

I have read some articles online that have said the Samsung Fascinate is coming out to all major carriers in the United States. I might be wrong though.

Look, we're not going to make this whole review about Verizon's deal with Microsoft to make Bing the default search engine on the Fascinate.
