I have a Ford & a Lincoln with Microsoft Sync that have worked wonderfully connecting to my Fascinate.....up until the last week or so.  Now the phone does not connect to the Sync bluetooth system.  If I do a soft reset then it will connect but only for approx 1-2 min before dropping the connection.  The bluetooth settings screen still shows that it is connected and if you go into options it shows that it is still connected for media but the phone connection is toggled off & won't allow you to re-connect it.  At the advice of VZW tech support I've tried a hard reset but that only worked for a few hours.  Has anyone else seen this sort of problem & more importantly what did you do to remedy it??

everytime this happens, unpair and delete it completely, and repair it.

I've tried that more times than I can count.  VZW store rep thinks that Fascinate pushed out a minor update in the past couple of weeks that may have caused it.  I guess its possible but seems unlikely in my opinion.

I just got a new Lincoln.  My Fascinate worked great for the first week with the new car, then all of a sudden, the bluetooth would not connect.  OR, it would spontaneously connect when I was out of the car.....  I mean REALLY out of the car.  In a store, with the keys out of the ignition, and WAY out of range.  I took the phone to Verizon, they did a factory reset, and the phone died.  I was given a new phone.  This was last Tuesday.  Yesterday, the same things started happening.  Today, I am on my way back to Verizon, and this time, I want a different phone!!  I love Samsung phones, and have had several, but I am about over this issue!!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one experiencing this.  Verizon store reps try to make you think you're an idiot.  My 2nd replacement Fascinate is on the Fed Ex truck headed here.....albeit its a refurb unit since I got the original on 10/9....but that's another frustration.  Hopefully this unit works better.  This is my first Samsung phone & had heard some many good things about them....but this is becoming way more than just an annoyance.

Well, I wish I had better news for you.  It is a compatibility problem.  The Fascinate is not supportedby Sync, (and probably won't be.)  I NEED the Sync services for my job, so I had no other choice but to purchase a new phone outright......  $530 later, I have a new Droid Incredible, which is 100% compatible with Sync.
Verizon will not tell you this, but they are aware of compatibility issues with the Fascinate.  Good luck with the new phone.  I hope it works for you!

Well now I have had 2 more units & they are all doing the same thing.  Mine won't even connect to my Jawbone now.  I'm curious...did you try your bluetooth w a bluetooth headset or just with the Ford Sync system?  I can't believe Verizon would sell a $550 smartphone that doesn't have working bluetooth functionality.  Most reputable companies would consider something this serious as grounds for an immediate fix or a recall.......HELLO VERIZON, ARE YOU LISTENING??!?!?!?

I don't have a bluetooth headset, but here's something you might want to try.  On Sync's website, there is a link to manually download your phonebook.  The connectivity issue happens when you automatically download your phonebook to Sync.  Hope this helps.
