Mine took about 30 minutes to download. I did notice that in my sent email folder I can't see what I wrote to them, only what they sent to me.

Anyone having that problem?

I downloaded last night in about 30 mins.  Now the phone is slow, burns thru battery and is, generally, the worst piece of crap I have ever owned.  I was not particularly happy with it before but am now completely PO'd!  Can we do anything to get Samsung's attention?

Oh yes...the phone is sluggish when attempting calls, opening settings, you name it.
This update was the android froyo 2.2.  WTFO

My phone was slow before the update. Now it is super slow. It takes a good 5 minutes to start the phone when powering on. I can actually see widgets slowly loading one by one. The clock digits appear a few minutes after the widget loads. When I move between screens, there is a delay and sometimes the page stops in the middle so I see half of both pages. Just about all functions are delayed and may take a few seconds or up to a minute to complete. pretty sad.

You would think that Samsung would come up with a fix.  I called customer support and they said they had not received any complaints and that they recommended a hard reset of the phone which, of course, would lose all of my data / apps, etc.

I am not a happy camper!
